Hearts on Fire Diamonds
Diamond Expert in Rapid City, South Dakota Explains the Beauty of the Hearts on Fire Diamonds
Over the centuries diamonds have been highly prized due to their rarity, beauty, and durability. The epitome of diamond perfection is even rarer still, and is found in only a few stores worldwide.
Rich Baumann, proprietor of Neugebauer’s Fine Jewelry, a diamond store in Rapid City, South Dakota, will only allow the most exquisite diamonds to be displayed for sale in his store. The Hearts on Fire diamonds being one of the most prized and sought after.
This Rapid City diamond dealer explains, “From their humble beginnings as crystals, the Hearts on Fire diamonds are selected from only the top 1% of the world's most beautiful. Upon reaching the selective Hearts on Fire workshop, each rough diamond undergoes an extensive cutting and polishing process at 100X magnification which is 10 times the industry standard. This has earned them their well-deserved reputation as the 'world's most perfectly cut diamonds'.”
Because of their distinctive cut, as light enters the Heart on Fire diamond, it creates a ring of perfectly matched hearts when viewed from the bottom, and a brilliant 8-pointed fire burst when viewed from above.
“From their beginnings as extraordinary crystals to their exceptional finishing process, Hearts on Fire diamonds radiate beauty. These diamonds also originate from conflict-free sources, so in addition to being the most perfectly cut, they are also the world's most inherently beautiful diamonds”, proudly states this Rapid City diamond expert.

Diamond Dealer in Rapid City Sells Conflict-Free Diamonds
Many people are unaware of the process or reasons behind keeping diamonds conflict-free, or even of the difference between conflict and conflict-free diamonds.
According to Rich Baumann, proprietor of Rapid City diamond store, Neugebauer's Fine Jewelry, “Conflict diamonds directed the world’s attention to ethical trade during the late 1990's with a concern for the atrocious conflicts in Africa. Diamonds sold and traded out of several African countries were being used to fund conflict in war-torn areas, hence being called conflict diamonds, or 'blood diamonds'.”
Over the past ten years, the flow of conflict diamonds has been reduced from approximately 4% of the world’s diamond production to significantly less than 1%.
“The reduction in conflict diamonds has been largely due to the institution of the Kimberly Process Certification Scheme in 2003, which helps to ensure that only conflict-free diamonds enter the legitimate diamond supply chain”, explains this Rapid City diamond dealer.
Rapid City's Neugebauer's Fine Jewelry is proud to support the now 71 countries that produce diamonds and participate in the Kimberly Process Certification System. The conflict-free diamonds that this Black Hills diamond dealer sells come from countries at peace. With the global trade revenue that is generated by conflict-free diamonds, these countries have been able to invest in the development of infrastructure, schools, and hospitals.
“It is very reassuring to our diamond customers that the diamonds we purchase are not funding conflict, but instead help support the life and education of the people in the destitute communities that the diamonds are originating from,” states Rich Baumann of his Rapid City diamond store.

April is the Month of Diamonds
Rapid City Diamond Dealer Talks About April's Birthstone, the Diamond
The month of April brings with it the promise of Spring and new beginnings as the last remains of Winter gently fade away due to the power of the sun and flowers. April brings the renewing power of the rain, helping to bring to life the trees and gardens. Babies born during the month of April are graced with the beauty and good fortune of possessing the illustrious diamond as their birthstone.
A birthstone is defined as the gemstone associated with the month of one's birth, the wearing of which is commonly thought to bring good luck or health.
“In 1912, the American National Association of Jewelers created a birthstone list, officially assigning different stones to each month,” states Rich Baumann of Rapid City diamond store Neugebauer's Fine Jewelry. “Today this list is accepted worldwide as the definitive list of birthstones.”
“Because diamonds are the hardest naturally occurring gem stones on earth, the word “diamond” is actually derived from the Greek word "adamas" which means invincible”, explains Rapid City diamond dealer, Rich Baumann. “Diamonds are also the only gem composed of a single element, carbon, making it a perfect symbol of purity.”
In addition to strength and purity, diamonds also symbolize courage, joy, and faith, as well as enduring love, which is why it is also the preferred stone to illuminate the engagement or wedding ring of one's beloved.

Diamond Dealer in Rapid City Explains Diamond Terminology
In regards to diamond vocabulary, the term “Diamond Carat” is used quite often, but what does “carat” actually mean?
The word "carat" comes from the primitive method for weighing diamonds. A diamond’s weight was once determined by balancing these precious stones on a scale with carob seeds! Needless to say, technology today has become much more sophisticated, and measurements are now much more exact; however, the terminology is a reminder of the long history of these illustrious gems.
A diamond’s carat refers to the measure of a diamond’s weight, and this changes slightly from the raw state to finished form.
Rich Baumann, owner of Rapid City’s diamond store, Neugebauer’s Fine Jewelry, explains, “Raw diamonds must undergo a cutting process in order to capture their true beauty, and this does reduce the diamond’s original weight somewhat. A diamond cutter is very precise and exacting, however, and the ultimate goal of the cutter is to retain as much of the diamond’s original weight as possible, while also maintaining its shimmering splendor.”
When cutting diamonds to round brilliants, as much 60% of a diamond’s weight is lost in the cutting process. Other shapes, such as the princess cut, have a much higher return, as much as 80% of the original weight is retained. After the cutting process, most diamonds are smaller than one carat, and the average size for a diamond engagement ring is approximately one-third of a carat.
A one-carat diamond is not simply double the price of a half-carat diamond. This Rapid City diamond expert clarifies, “A diamond’s carat is only one of the four important factors, often referred to as the 4 C’s, in determining the value of a diamond the cut, along with a diamond’s color and clarity must be evaluated as well, they are inseparable in assessing the value of each diamond. All are equally important diamond characteristics to consider.”

Hearts on Fire Diamonds in Rapid City
Rapid City Diamond Dealer Explains the Brilliance of the Hearts on Fire Diamond
There is no other piece of jewelry more attached to emotion than the diamond ring. A diamond ring worn on the finger of one’s beloved is a significant symbol of the unbreakable bond between two people, and one that will be treasured forever.
Rich Baumann, owner of Rapid City diamond store, Neugebauer’s Fine Jewelry says of one diamond in particular, “The Hearts on Fire Diamond, the world’s most perfectly cut diamond, shines with a light from within and is the ultimate symbol of the love between two people.”
Cut is one of the four essential characteristics, otherwise known as the 4C’s, that defining the value of a diamond. A diamond cut is basically what determines a diamond’s brilliance. Without a nice cut, the true beauty of a diamond will not be revealed, and its charm and value will be lost.
“The Hearts on Fire Diamond is known as the world’s most brilliant diamond, it is cut to maximize sparkle, which brings out the true beauty of the stone”, says this Rapid City diamond expert.
Diamond cut refers to the stone’s reflective qualities, its ability to reflect the light shining through it. The better the quality of the cut, the more brilliance the stone will reflect.
According to this Rapid City diamond dealer, “Each Hearts on Fire diamond contains a radiance and luminosity that will capture the heart, creating an impression unparalleled by any other diamond.
